So, I received my 09 XLR. I love everything about it. I was setting it up tonight and had it in and out of my EZ Press, Putting it on the scale, draw board and drawing it back (with an arrow of coarse). I finally had everything where I wanted it and I needed to take a half twist out of the string to line my peep. I took it out of the press, put an arrow in it and drew it back. Thats right, the last draw before bed and I forgot to put the draw stops back in. I immediately put it in the press and got the strings and cables put back on. Can this cause any problems?

As long as it didn't dry fire you should be ok.

Just to be safe and with all honesty,,, I think you should send it to someone else to test fire it... I would gladly volunteer for this dangerous misssion, let me know...

Been there done that, did it to my GT500. I now take one of the draw stops and tape it to the grip just as a reminder.

What happens when you draw it back without a draw stop?

Potentialy you can lock up the cams while at full draw to where they do not want to move. Not a good idea to do that.

I have not done this with my Elite's but I did do it with my 2007 Tribute. Last draw of the night too (imagine that). I put the bow in a press and fixed it. I shot that bow for another 6 months with no problems. Welcome to the club....

Why did you take the draw stops out anyway????

Kevin
The fingers on the EZ Press wont allow me to press the bow with them on. If I'm wrong and there is a way to do it please let me know. I'm going to order the short fingers so this wont happen again.
Thanks,
Craig

I haven't used an EZ press so I wouldn't know, I was just curious as to why????

Why did you take the draw stops out anyway????

Split limb adapter for the bow master press won't fit over the cams with the draw stops on.

I'm an idiot as well...and my list is a lot longer than forgetting to put the draw stops back on. :toothless:

you can use the short fingers on the ez press and put one on each end then you dont have to remove the stops from the cams to press the elites

when you get your press it comes with one but they will sell you another one.

how could anyone make a mistake like this:peepwall:

Thankfully when I did it I went straight from the press to the drawboard, I let the winch hold it while I went and got my portable press.

I don't think I'd like the feeling one must get(scared sh*tless!?) doing it while drawing the bow manually. Seems like it would be easily a pucker factor of 10 until you got it in a press, lol.
