  • Bow Press Plans

I think it is time with three bows to build my own press. I am tired of taking it to the shop just to get worked on.

Anyone have plans for a good press that can be built and will work for Elite Bows.

    Thanks,

I use a modified version of the press described here:

      http://www.skinnymoose.com/mostlyarc...-25-bow-press/

Mine has pipe clamps on either side to allow for more travel. It does a fine job for taking strings and cables on/off. A little more difficult to swap limbs out but it can be done.

If you have any welding skills (or a buddy who does) it's not hard to build a linear press out of a trailer jack. Cost you about $75 in parts. Pretty easy to find plans... email me if you need more info, can send pics of my buddy's.

Anyone have X-press plans? I, too, am due for making a press... since my GT tried to eat my finger last time I put a bowmaster to it...

There are a set plans in here that look pretty easy to build.

What did this press end up costing you to build?

I have a set of 'coat hangers' for sale if anyone is interested in building a linear press. PM me for details.

I would say about $120.00 or so.

Just watched the video on how to make it. I'm going to get with my mechanical buddy and make a project out of it.
