  • Single Pin Sight?

I'm looking at an HHA DS5519 or CBE Tek Hunter XL with a single pin scope. There is about a $40 difference between them.

    Opinions?

I have two HHAs...5519 and 5510 and always thought they were great sights. I wanted to try something different with greater range for long yardage shots and picked up a Tek Target based upon several conversations with some Eafer's. Although I have never had an issue with my HHAs I don't think I will ever buy one again after seeing the CBE. I will continue to use my HHAs but I really think they are extremely overpriced for what you are getting after having my CBE for only about a week. Originally I was going to get the Tek Hunter XL but found a Tek Target that came with the Hunter bar and block (for sight mounted quivers). Again I haven't had mine long but I absolutely love it so far. The HHA seems pretty cheap sitting next to the CBE.

At least the CBE will have a 2nd axis adjustment on it. You can always add the 3rd axis to it as well. I have many HHA's and they work well but the CBE just has more features and it better built.

Leaning toward the CBE. Was thinking I'd like to try a single pin but I may go with the tek hunter XL 4 pins and use the 4th for sliding to longer yardage. Best of both worlds.

I'm in the same boat right now. Getting a single pin after my tax refund. I probably wont shoot past 60 yds. Both look really good to me. What is weight difference? CBE heavier than HHA?

Though an option, hha has a 2nd and 3rd axis bracket for this year.

I thought the same thing, but hha's website only shows the 2nd axis bracket. I swear I heard they were doing a 3rd axis. Do you have a link or anything?

CBE is my #1 single pin sight. The MBG Ascent is a far second.

Someone posted on AT that they called HHA to order the 2nd axis bracket. While speaking with them they said the newest one has both. Also one of the hha vendors over there posted something about both as well.

I used an HHA 5519 slider last year and loved it...when first mounted to my bow it wasn't anywhere near level and I had to shim it to get it where it needed. When I called HHA and asked about it they sent me a free 2nd axis bracket free of charge. Great CS.

Even though I had no issues w/this sight I need another hunting sight for my Pure for this year, and I've been eyeballing one I finally pulled the trigger on today. Several seemingly cool features...the pin is set at a quartering angle, so not up and not from the side...The yardage markers are on the slider are actually fiber optics that are adjustable so you can dial it in, so no more low light/hard to read sight tapes...and a fiber optic pin on the marker/slide so you can see exactly where that is at...all axis adjustments...even 4th, and I don't even know what the heck 4th axis is... Looking forward to giving this baby a whirl this year. Good luck.

The bow HUSTLER loves the Tek Target as well.

HHA makes a very respectable sight, but in no way does it compete with the quality of CBE. It's one of those deals where if you just need an adjustable sight and you dont have much to spend, go with the HHA, they're solid for the money. But if you are hesitating, and have the extra $30-$40, you'd be flat out SILLY to not get the CBE! I would pay $100 more for a CBE.
