I have heard from 2 of my friends who have killed mountain lions with a bow that it is the most challenging hunt they have ever been on. They have eaten every kind of wild game you can imagine from deer, elk, moose, buffalo, caribou, and both said Mt. Lion was the best meat they had ever eaten. Said you have to get it tested for trichinosis, by the dnr before you eat it, but they said it is amazing.

I have killed a lot of critters, spent over 10 years trying to kill a lion without dogs you have to be real lucky to get it done. Way smarter than anything else I have hunted.

For the hunters that use thier trained dogs to hunt game, it must be a very rewarding time. After years of training that the dogs actually do what they were trained for. I've never hunted with dogs for deer, cougars, or bear but would like to try someday. If the bear or cat that is treed is not what I'm lookin for then I can walk away. Same with deer hunting with dogs or any other method of hunting. We as hunters make that decision to shoot and take the animal we chase. As a stand hunter mostly I can see how exciting this type of hunting is and to those hunters they must think I'm a boring hunter waiting for a deer to walk by. No problem as long as we accept the way we hunt as our individual choice as long as legal methods.
